Endometriosis, or endo, occurs when the uterine lining (the endometrium) is found outside of the uterus. The misplaced tissue results in lesions that act in much the same fashion as the endometrium located in the uterus. During the menstrual cycle, misplaced tissue thickens and then sheds as it would in the uterus. However, because the blood has no way of leaving the body, it causes internal bleeding and inflammation. This leads to pain, scar tissue, bowel problems and infertility.
Endometriosis is a progressive disease that tends to get worse over time and can reoccur after treatment. Symptoms include painful menstrual periods, abnormal menstrual bleeding and pain during or after sexual intercourse.
The cause of endometriosis is unknown but there are several suggestions raised by experts. There is strong evidence to suggest that endometriosis may be genetic.it means that it is a genetic birth abnormality in which endometrial cells develop outside the uterus during fetal development. Other experts believe that during menstruation, some of the menstrual tissue backs up through the fallopian tubes into the abdomen where it implants and grows which is easily occurred to patient who with scar diathesis.

Treatment
A laparoscopy, an outpatient surgical procedure, is necessary to confirm a diagnosis of endometriosis after a medical history review and pelvic exam. The ectopic focus can be removed by using laparoscope , but it is more likely that one needs more than once surgeries to root out the tissue.
Biological antistick membranes, which is invented by Antai Hospital, can effectively prevent pelvic adhesion.
GnRh-a aim to assist to curb the reproduction of remaining ectopic cells.
To be pregnant is also a good way to stop the recurrence of the ectopic cells.
