Water Birth in China
Water birth is said to be a very gentle transition from the womb to world for a newborn baby. The practice of underwater childbirth is not a new birthing practice but is increasing in popularity.In 2003, a woman, worked as a teacher in Shanghai, successfully give birth in water, known as the first case of water birth in China. In 2004, the first case of water birth in Beijing emerged in Beijing Antai hospital, which inaugurated a new era in underwater birth of Beijing. This event also aroused public concern nationwide. Up to now, there are about 400 babies borne in water in Beijing Antai Hospital, so that Antai Hospital is quite experienced in water birth.
Beijing Antai Hospital, which was founded in March.1st.2003, is the first high technological hospital in China that established completely according to the WHO standards. Waterbirth Plan
We have prepared this Birth Plan to help you understand our philosophy and the kind of care we would supply to you. We have experienced midwives and obstetricians who share your desire for a low-intervention birth and respects your need for good communication. We serve you for as natural a birth as possible, avoiding unnecessary procedures and medications. However, if medications or procedures become necessary, we will discuss them with you in advance so that you can participate in the decision-making. We will discuss all procedures with you before they are performed. We plan to have up to 2 labor support people present during labor and delivery.
